Mission of the PTSA
WHAT IS PTSA?
PTSA, which stands for Parent, Teacher and Student Association, is a partnership among parents, teachers, students (grades 9-12), and school leaders. Together, we strive to create a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students are given the tools they need to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. (HCCPHS is a “PTSA” vs a “PTA” because we have high schoolers who are eligible to join our Association – they are the “S” in PTSA!)
As a unit of the Texas State PTSA, we believe every adult has a responsibility to ensure that all students develop to their full potential. We believe parents are student’s first teachers and that parent involvement is essential throughout a students educational experience. We believe that family is the basic unit of society responsible for the support and nurturing of all children, and we recognize that “the family” may be defined in many ways. We believe our responsibility includes advocating for the safety and welfare of all students and the opportunity for a quality public education for each child.
The mission of PTSA is to positively impact the lives of all students and families.
